More details about this report...
At around
mid-way through each trading day we run
a screen against our database of
high-ranked stocks, searching for
possible buy candidates that are trading
at or near their 52-week high on above
average volume. The results of that
screen are split into the two sections
you see below. The first, titled
"TODAY's FEATURED STOCKS" shows stocks
that our experts have recently
identified as among the strongest candidates to
consider. Stocks highlighted in yellow
are the most timely and noteworthy, so
particular attention and prompt action
may be appropriate. The second section,
titled "TODAY's BREAKOUT SCREEN" shows
the remainder of stocks meeting today's
screen parameters. Our experts have
reviewed and included notes on these
stocks as well, but found that they may
not match up as favorably.

Consolidating near prior chart highs following an abrupt pull back after reaching a new 52-week high last week, then completing a Secondary Offering on 9/08/11. Recently cleared resistance in the $35 area may now act as a support level. Reported earnings +24% on +11% sales revenues for the quarter ended July 31, 2011 versus the prior session. When rebounding above its 50 DMA line on 8/29/11 the mid-day report noted - "Sales revenues and earnings increases in the Jan '11 and Apr '11 quarterly comparisons versus the year ago periods were borderline or below the investment system guidelines."

Most Recent Note for HITK - 9/12/2011 12:21:57 PM
Gains last week helped it approach its 52-week high, but it has not formed a sound base pattern. Recent quarterly comparisons have shown strong sales revenues and earnings increases (good C criteria). Losses in FY '07 & '08 are a flaw concerning the investment system's A criteria, and consensus estimates calling for earnings -8% in FY '12 and -9% in FY '13 are additional cause for concern.

Consolidating and holding its ground stubbornly following a considerable volume-driven gain on 9/01/11. It blasted to new 52-week and all-time highs on news it will buy operations from Jacobs Trading for up to $170 Million. LQDT had slumped below its 50 DMA line since noted in the 8/03/11 mid-day report when hitting its prior high -"Its sub par fundamentals are below the investment system guidelines. Gapped up today and hit another new 52-week high today. It has been holding its ground stubbornly following considerable gains with above average volume in recent weeks. There was a brief consolidation above prior highs after an earlier "breakaway gap" on 7/29/11. Prior mid-day reports noted - "Earnings increased by +125% on +26% sales revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 2011. Showing impressive sequential acceleration in recent quarterly comparisons, but prior quarterly comparisons showed lackluster sales revenues increases well below the +25% guideline, leaving some fundamental concerns."

Up today for a new all-time high, adding to a streak of volume-driven gains. The 9/09/11 mid-day report noted - "Considerable gap up gain today with heavy volume helped it blast above its 50 DMA line after reporting earnings +52% on +23% sales revenues for the quarter ended July 31, 2011 versus the year ago period. It has not formed a sound base pattern, yet it is quickly rebounding following a deep consolidation near its 200 DMA line after it was dropped from the Featured Stocks list on 8/04/11. Quietly consolidating near its 50 DMA line today. It found impressive support near its 200 DMA line during its choppy consolidation from its highs since last noted in the 7/18/11 mid-day report - "The drastic downturn in FY '09 earnings remains a flaw with respect to the A criteria of the fact-based investment system. Its latest quarterly comparisons showed improving sales and earnings but its prior earnings history is below guidelines of the fact-based investment system. Based on weak technical action it was dropped from the Featured Stocks list 11/8/07 and subsequently fell from $136 to as low as $14.50 in March '09 before rebounding. Traded up +43% after it was featured in the 8/26/07 Special Report titled 'Stocks That Should Now Be On Your Watch List' with annotated graphs and commentary including our detailed CANSLIM.net Profile, What To Look For And What To Look Out For, and Technical Analysis summaries (read here)."
